“Thousands Deceived By Harry”

Is there a real danger in reading the Harry Potter Books? The Scriptures tell us the following, “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observor of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer all that do these things are an abomination unto Yahuwah (Ya-HOO-ah)” (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).
These books can be a serious threat to our spirituality. If you think these books are merely words woven together to tell a tale, think again. Harry Potter is teaching readers, of all ages, about black magic and witchcraft.
Where can you find these books? At any book store or Public Library located in the children’s section. Can you believe that? These books should be moved immediately to the Occult section, locked up and the key destroyed!
‘The Dark Mark’, “The Unforgivable Curses’, ‘Flesh, Blood and Bones’, and let us not over-look, ‘The Death Eaters’. These Chapter headings alone should signal a warning in us, but J. K. Rowling takes us further with her teaching of rituals, spell casting and Occultism. The Harry Potter books have put a spell on thousands of blinded readers. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the ruler of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. (Eph. 6:12)
Am I over-reacting? Even I was deceived at first by the Harry Potter books. I witnessed what these words can do to a child, my own child. She got caught in this twisted web J. K. Rowling has spun.
The Book Fair
As Nicole pulled her book-bag over her bony shoulder she asked, “Mommy, can I have a few dollars for the book fair?”
The church bells began to ring, as I dumped my purse onto the passenger’s seat, “Now I know there’s some change here somewhere,” I whispered, “Here take this twenty-dollar bill.”
“Cool,” Nicole yelled, as she ran through the empty parking lot.
Later on that night, when I was cooking Lasagna, I noticed a book on the kitchen table, “Is that your new book?” I asked.
“Oh, that’s my new Harry Potter book. Everyone loves Harry.” Pulling the hot Lasagna out of the oven, I replied,
“Harry Potter…the name seems innocent. What’s the book about?” Harry and his contents lay nestled in her frail lap, as she said,
“He’s an orphan and goes on adventures.” As the steam warmed my face, I asked,
“What kind of adventures?”
“I better go tell Daddy, dinner is ready,” Nicole swiftly responded, as she skipped through the cluttered hallway.
Three days later, I found myself patiently waiting for Nicole to return home from school. Standing on the front porch, my eyes glistened as I watched her. Greeting me with a kiss, she asked,
“Did you have a nice day?”
“I found this poster-board in your room,” I said.
“Oh, we did that in art,” she admitted. With one hand on my hip, I demanded,
“I want an explanation right now. We send you to one of the finest schools and this is what you are being taught? Parents are slaves. Parents live, in the dungeon…past the black forest. Parents are not allowed to eat. Kids are gods. And is…is this blood?”
Confessing, “Everyone did it,” she hung her head.
“Who taught you this?” I asked.
“The book talks about…” Interrupting her, I yelled,
“What book?”
“Harry,” she whispered.
We sat on the porch for hours that night. Through our love we were able to break the web by renouncing this book and witchcraft!
The Truth
A few months later, Nicole received a gift from her Aunt, who is a teacher and helps out every week at her Baptist church. Once again, Harry Potter laid in her frail lap.
“I hope you like that, I heard it’s a great book,” her Aunt said. Sighing I asked,
“Did you read this book?”
“No, but the Librarian said…”
“I think you should read this book, then tell me what you think. I’m sorry, but Nicole cannot accept this gift,” I said.
A few months later, I called two churches and spoke with the priest/pastor of the church. I asked them if they had heard of Harry Potter and if they think these books are good for children to read. They had heard of the books and agreed that these books are getting children, of all ages, to read and use their imagination. To my surprise, neither one of them had read the books. Have they not read Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Many parents, educators and religious leaders are recommending these books, without reading the contents themselves. Late at night, children sit in their bedrooms, reading about an orphan boy who attends “Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry”. These children are being entangled in this evil web.
The Survey
When I called a youth pastor and asked him what he thought of Harry Potter, he said, “Those books are not healthy. They teach children not to walk with the Lord and can do some damage on a child’s mind.”
During our conversation he agreed to have his youth class participate in my survey. A fifth grade teacher at Washington Elementary had this to say,
“These books are not for elementary students to read. The books talk about murder and children should not be reading this.”
As I stood, at my local library, the Librarian angrily said, “Oh you’re the one, give me one of those survey’s.” Scribbling she continued,
“These books are great, as long as children are reading, then who cares what they are about.”
“Most parents do not realize that witchcraft is being taught through these pages. I do care.” I said turning to walk away.
The survey had five questions about the Harry Potter books. Questioning fifty-six participants in all. The survey consisted of:
2 eight-year-olds
4 ten-year-olds
20 eleven-year-olds
8 twelve-year-olds
3 thirteen-year-olds
0 fourteen-year-olds
1 fifteen-year-old
2 sixteen-year-olds
11 eighteen-year-olds and older.
5 not eligible
Twenty-six participants liked Harry Potter, twenty-one did not like Harry Potter. Five participants were not eligible because they had not read any of the books, and the reason why they didn’t read the books were because they did not like Harry Potter.
This information tells us that many are split and I believe Caryl Matrisciana when she said, “There are just as many Witches as there are Christians”. Friends that is sad because we are not spreading Yahushua Ha Mashiach’s (Messiah’s) words enough.
The participants who like the books, had this to say:
1. Interesting
2. Addicting
3. Magic people are cool
4. Exciting
5. Makes one use their
imagination
The participants who did not like the books, had this to say:
1. Harry Potter is stupid
2. Teaches witchcraft
3. Is not good for one’s
spirituality
4. Wicked
5. Curse words and too much
violence
If you believe you should live by the scriptures then clearly one should not be reading about witchcraft. Out of all the participants, two comments I found very interesting. An eleven-year-old girl said, “I think there is way too much witchcraft. I am a Christian and I believe God says that you should not fill your mind with too much fiction.”
In another comment, a ten-year-old boy said, “I like the Author.” I don’t know my beloved friends, with some of the things this Author has said, I find her values to be different than mine, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matt. 16:26)
David Benoit wrote, “Fourteen Things Witches Hope Parents Never Find Out,” Published by Hearthstone Publishing Ltd. He believes our children are being preyed upon by witchcraft through the promotions of cartoons, toys and games. Mr. Benoit also believes that there are witches, in the field of education. I suggest reading this book.
Pastor David J. Meyer reminded me that the communist revolutionary Lenin said, “Give me one generation of youth and I will transform the entire world.” Could J. K. Rowling have been handed a generation of youth? In helping in the rise of the Antichrist? Mr. Meyer feels she has and so do I. This is just one line of Harry Potter fans waiting to get the newest book release:
What can we as parents do to better protect our children when it comes to finding a good book?
1. Remember each child develops at different times and take this into consideration instead of the child’s age.
2. The needs of each child are determined by the child’s background, attitudes and interests.
3. When finding a book for a group reading, discuss with the children what they like, take a vote before deciding on a certain book and let the reading be enjoyable for the whole class.
4. Never recommend a book to anyone without reading the book yourself.
5. Look at the Author’s values. If these values are different from yours then dismiss the book. If you agree with the Author, then consider the book as a whole.

Throughout these books children are reading about demonic possession and human sacrifice.
Harry receives a death curse. This curse is manifested in the form of what appears to be a lightening bolt on his forehead.
Many children and adults have placed this same death curse upon their foreheads! Some have even put this on their pet dogs!, “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am Yahuwah.”
This death curse, in a form of what seems to be a lightening bolt, is a symbol referred to Thor( Norse deity of war and thunder).He carries a hammer which creates lightning.
Leviticus 17:12.”Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood”
Remember me talking about those chapter headings? “Flesh, Blood, and Bones,” From the fourth book, well this chapter is when Voldenmort takes a vial of Harry’s blood so that blood can run through his veins that he can be resurrected and have a body. Can you believe this? The shocking fact is many children are reading this, all in the name of make believe entertainment.
Now you know why I feel the Harry Potter Books are very dangerous to one’s spirituality. I remember when I was in my teen years kids would play with a game called Dungeons and Dragons, which was an Occultic game. Now, this generation has Harry Potter and it’s not just for teenagers but for children as young as seven.
Acts 19:18-20, “And many that believed came and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together and burned them before all men.”
Harry was in the garden, and may be in your child’s bedroom tonight! Free yourselves from this evil web that has been spinning since the fall of Adam. Through the blood of the Lamb that takes away the sins of the world, Yahushua Messiah can free YOU!
